Administrative Officer

The Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) is seeking a qualified Administrative Officer to support the efficient operation of its administrative functions. The role involves managing office procedures, coordinating meetings, maintaining records, handling correspondence, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. The Administrative Officer will serve as a liaison between different departments and external stakeholders, providing administrative support to senior management. Duties include preparing reports, managing procurement processes, overseeing office logistics, and maintaining a well-organized filing system. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced government environment. The role plays a critical role in facilitating the council's mission to promote and coordinate the development of science and technology in Uganda.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; At least 3 years of relevant administrative experience in a government or corporate setting; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; Knowledge of procurement procedures and office management practices; Experience with record-keeping and data management systems.
