Finance Coordinator – Nigeria – M/F

The Finance Coordinator serves as the safeguarding authority for ALIMA’s finance department in Nigeria, responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction of the department to support operational goals. This role encompasses overseeing the proper management of ALIMA’s resources within the mission, ensuring accurate accounting practices, and monitoring mission budgets. The Finance Coordinator acts as a management controller, facilitating financial planning and treasury security, and is responsible for timely reporting to both headquarters and donors to ensure transparency and compliance with financial regulations. The role involves supervising the finance team, defining treasury management procedures, building and following up on the mission budget, preparing budget proposals for donors, and conducting financial reporting in accordance with donor procedures and ALIMA’s requirements. Additionally, the Finance Coordinator is tasked with preventing fraud and corruption, planning and organizing audit preparations, and providing capacity building to the team, including training on accounting data entry, SAGA software, cash management, and other financial procedures.

University degree in finance, administration, or human resources; minimum 5 years of experience in finance management; at least 1 year of experience in a similar position; experience with medical international NGOs is an asset; team management and supervision skills; knowledge of donors and experience in financial reporting; perfect knowledge of MS Office packages, especially Excel; knowledge of SAGA (finance software) is appreciated; rigorous, autonomous, and organized; strong adapting capacities and proactivity; ability to work in a multicultural context; risk alertness and good communication; English is mandatory; French is an asset.
