Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions for our clients across East Africa. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver scalable and innovative software products. Responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code; participating in code reviews; troubleshooting and debugging applications; and ensuring the performance, security, and scalability of software systems. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translating them into technical specifications. Additionally, the Software Engineer will be expected to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve our software development processes.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; 3+ years of professional experience in software development; Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript; Experience with frameworks like Django, Spring Boot, or React; Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git); Knowledge of database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB); Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
