Malaria SBC Technical Advisor/Conseiller Technique pour le Paludisme SBC - Proposal

Support the use of malaria Social and Behavior Change (SBC) activities across the project to promote individual practices and improve community mobilization around malaria prevention through the use of Insecticide-Treated Nets (ITNs). Guide the process of developing and deploying communication and SBC interventions, including measuring and monitoring results with a focus on behavioral outcomes. Support collaborative efforts with provincial-level partners, the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP), and other government counterparts to plan, implement, and monitor malaria SBC activities. Actively contribute to knowledge management by documenting relevant findings and success stories. Work with the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team to help develop, maintain, and monitor indicators in the Activity Monitoring and Evaluation Plan, particularly those related to behavior change. Ensure the development of quality job aids and other materials to support technical implementation, prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and handling multiple responsibilities efficiently.

A Masters Degree (or foreign equivalent) in public health, behavioral sciences, health communication, health promotion and education, nutrition, or related field; Minimum of seven years of experience in SBC as applied to health programs, particularly malaria programs; Experience in leading strategic planning for and providing technical support to programs that integrate health, particularly malaria, and SBC programs; Experience in communication and behavioral-based M&E and qualitative research methods used in pretesting of concepts, materials, and interventions; Knowledge of evidence-based SBC theories, approaches, and interventions; Demonstrated ability to develop creative programs, networks, linkages with clients and collaborating organizations; Exceptional writing skills in addition to strong editing and organizational skills; Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well in a team; Familiarity with USAID programs and initiatives, particularly the Presidents Malaria Initiative (PMI); Prior experience supporting malaria-focused or vector-borne disease programs preferred; Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills in French; Oral and written communication skills in English strongly preferred; Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, pay attention to details and handle a variety of responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
