Communications and Reporting Officer
Job Description
DCA is seeking a Communications and Reporting Officer to lead visibility, documentation, and reporting efforts for its Uganda operations. The role involves supporting the development and implementation of DCA Uganda's communication and visibility strategies to ensure compliance with donor visibility requirements from entities such as Danida, EU, UN agencies, and ECHO. The officer will produce high-quality communication products, including IEC materials, success stories, newsletters, and press releases. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating photography and videography for projects and events, managing and updating DCA Uganda’s social media platforms and website content, and leading documentation of programs to capture achievements, impact, and lessons learned. Additionally, the role involves building the capacity of DCA staff and National NGO partners in storytelling and donor visibility, supporting proposal development and resource mobilization by providing impact stories and context analysis, and collaborating with MEAL and program teams to gather evidence for reporting. The position requires strong collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure cohesive communication and reporting outputs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications, reporting, or a related field; Proven experience in developing communication strategies and producing IEC materials; Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to create compelling narratives and press releases; Experience in managing social media platforms and website content; Proficiency in photography and videography for documentation purposes; Experience in capacity building and training; Knowledge of donor visibility requirements and compliance; Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams; Strong organizational and project management skills; Fluency in English (written and verbal); Additional languages such as Luganda or Swahili are an advantage.
