WFP Consultant Level 1 (Additional Position)

Under the supervision of the Head of Procurement, the Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the full procurement cycle for goods and services required by the WFP Country Office. This includes identifying procurement needs, developing procurement plans, conducting market analyses, drafting specifications, issuing tenders, evaluating bids, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The role involves close collaboration with programme teams to align procurement activities with operational requirements and donor regulations. The Procurement Officer will also monitor contract performance, resolve supplier issues, and ensure compliance with WFP policies, UN procurement rules, and international standards.

Advanced university degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; minimum 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in an international organization or large corporation; professional certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is highly desirable; strong analytical and negotiation skills; proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems; excellent written and oral communication skills in English; working knowledge of French, Spanish, or Arabic is an asset; familiarity with UN procurement procedures and donor regulations is required.
