Laboratory Technologist

The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses on patient samples to support accurate diagnosis and treatment decisions. The role involves specimen preparation, laboratory testing, equipment maintenance, quality assurance, documentation, and compliance with laboratory safety standards. The position supports healthcare teams by providing reliable and timely laboratory results while maintaining high standards of accuracy, professionalism, and patient care. Key responsibilities include performing tests according to established protocols, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, recording and interpreting results, assisting in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining safety and infection prevention standards, collaborating with medical professionals, participating in quality assurance initiatives, and ensuring proper handling of laboratory materials. The role also requires staying updated on emerging laboratory technologies and procedures.

Relevant qualification in Medical Laboratory Science or related field from a recognized institution; Suitable for fresh graduates and entry-level laboratory professionals; Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, quality standards, and safety practices; Proficiency in laboratory procedures, testing methodologies, and diagnostic techniques; Strong clinical laboratory skills with the ability to perform accurate testing and analysis; Ability to analyze and interpret laboratory data to support clinical decision-making; Ability to follow laboratory protocols and procedures effectively; Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals and laboratory teams; High attention to detail and accuracy in laboratory processes; Ability to adapt to changing laboratory environments, technologies, and procedures; Strong knowledge of laboratory safety practices and regulatory requirements; Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
