Accounts Assistant

The Accounts Assistant plays a pivotal role in implementing the organization's vision and mission by supporting the Finance Department under the direction of the Accountant. The role involves assisting with regular finance operations, including data entry, petty cash management, and journal entries using QuickBooks Online. Responsibilities include posting cash and mobile money payments, preparing and disbursing petty cash payments, updating and maintaining accounting journals and ledgers, verifying the accuracy of financial documents, and reconciling records with internal staff and external vendors. The Accounts Assistant will also maintain accurate filing systems, respond to client and internal requests, and perform basic office tasks such as capturing minutes, answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, and filing. Additional duties may be assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department. Work hours are flexible and may include weekends or holidays based on program needs.

Degree in Accounting and Finance or Commerce; minimum 2 years of relevant work experience; CPA/ACCA level 11 is a plus; experience using QuickBooks; strong attention to detail; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
