Chemistry & Biology Teacher Key Responsibilities - Teach Chemistry and Biology across secondary school, including International A Level - Prepare and deliver engaging, learner-centred lessons aligned with the Pearson Edexcel curriculum. - Assess, monitor, and report student progress using a variety of assessment methods. - Maintain accurate academic records and provide timely feedback to students and parents. - Plan and supervise practical laboratory sessions while ensuring compliance with laboratory health and safety procedures. - Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. - Integrate educational technology to enhance teaching and learning. - Contribute actively to departmental planning and curriculum development. - Uphold the school’s safeguarding, child protection, and student wellbeing policies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Education (Chemistry & Biology) or a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/Biology with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE); valid Teaching Certificate (TSC registration is an added advantage); minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Chemistry and Biology at the secondary school level; strong knowledge of the Kenyan secondary school curriculum; excellent communication and classroom management skills; ability to create engaging lesson plans and teaching aids; proficiency in using educational technology tools; commitment to continuous professional development.
