Communications Officer

To promote the image of BRAC in Tanzania through building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders while maintaining sensitivity and integrity of information and demonstrating a collaborative approach in developing communications strategies and materials to achieve the mission and vision of BRAC. The role involves developing and executing an effective communications strategy for BTFL, supporting teams in organizing workshops, seminars, trainings, and meetings, and developing program materials. Responsibilities include preparing background information and communication materials about BTFL for discussions with governments, donors, and other organizations, producing monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports, collecting, translating, and compiling case studies as required by individual programs, maintaining strong relationships with the media, representing BTFL at coordination meetings and with various stakeholders, and coordinating BTFL events. The role also includes safeguarding responsibilities to ensure the safety of team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation, and acting as a key source of support and guidance on safeguarding policies.

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in communications, media relations, or public relations. Strong writing and editing skills with proficiency in Swahili and English. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience with digital marketing and social media management is a plus.
