IT Assistant Volunteer
Job Description
The IT Assistant Volunteer at WFP Tanzania will support the delivery of efficient and effective IT and Telecommunications (TC) services, enabling staff to deliver food assistance to beneficiaries in line with WFP’s strategy. Under the guidance of the Head of the TEC division, the volunteer will record, classify, and track all TEC support requests and incidents, updating ticket details with troubleshooting steps and escalating unresolved issues for timely closure. The role involves providing first-line TEC support to staff, troubleshooting issues with PCs, printers, Wi-Fi, and Office 365, and supporting conference room TEC setups, including Teams conferencing. Additional responsibilities include assisting in onboarding/offboarding staff, installing and configuring TEC equipment, supporting network issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN), providing remote TEC support to sub-offices in Kigoma, Arusha, and Mtwara, and preparing TEC equipment for dispatch to sub-offices. The volunteer will also perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant field; Basic understanding of hardware and network; 3-5 years of relevant experience; Strong client-oriented, teamwork, adaptability, and integrity competencies; Proficiency in troubleshooting PCs, printers, Wi-Fi, Office 365, and network issues; Ability to provide remote support and assist with equipment setup and configuration; Experience in onboarding/offboarding staff is an advantage.
