• Responsible for selecting and maintaining Trucks in order to keep deliveries and distributions on schedule and within their established budget • Ensure appropriate route planning is applied making delivery rounds as efficient as possible whilst considering the requirements of the customer. • Ensure legal compliance is adhered to with regard to transport and driver regulations. E.g. licence checks & load weight • Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries. • Organise, lead, and participate in Regional Logistics Meetings including the local transport committee. • Manage logistics operations including all logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of organization cargoes. • Ensure vehicle accident reporting and investigation process is adhered to and appropriate actions are taken. • Ensure all transporter vehicles are serviced according to Transport and Logistics advisory standards. • Identify, mobilize resources, implement, and report on special logistics operations. • Ensure that accurate and complete accounting, reporting, and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained. • Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system. • Booking sub-contractors and ensuring they deliver within agreed terms. • Record shipment data such as weight, charges, and damages • Be part of the negotiation on behalf of the company in liaison with the procurement department for raw materials and transport of finished products from the company • Manage the relationship with key transport suppliers – road and rail
