Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET)

Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair medical equipment and systems to ensure optimal functionality and safety in healthcare facilities. Provide first-line technical support by addressing immediate issues and escalating complex repairs to manufacturers, suppliers, or contracted service providers as needed. Conduct regular maintenance checks and preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. Identify gaps in equipment availability and training needs at supported facilities, then recommend targeted interventions to address these gaps. Advise facility management and procurement teams on equipment procurement priorities based on current equipment condition, facility needs, and long-term sustainability goals. Collaborate closely with healthcare staff to ensure seamless integration of biomedical equipment into clinical workflows and to enhance patient care outcomes.

Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field; Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in biomedical equipment repair and maintenance; Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for medical equipment systems; Knowledge of medical equipment safety standards and regulatory compliance; Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair tasks simultaneously; Excellent communication skills to liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and healthcare staff; Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for equipment servicing; Valid driver’s license may be required for travel between facilities.
