The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that AVSF's programs in Ethiopia are effectively monitored, evaluated, and adapted for maximum impact. The officer will design and implement robust MEAL frameworks, track progress against indicators, and ensure accountability to beneficiaries through participatory approaches. Key responsibilities include collecting and analyzing data to assess program effectiveness, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and facilitating learning sessions to inform program improvements. The role involves close collaboration with field teams, partners, and beneficiaries to ensure that MEAL processes are inclusive and contextually relevant. The officer will also contribute to reporting on program achievements and lessons learned for internal and external stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field; Master’s degree is an asset; Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in agricultural or rural development programs; Experience with MEAL frameworks, tools, and methodologies (e.g., logical frameworks, outcome harvesting, participatory rural appraisal); Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data collection and analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, Excel, KoboToolbox); Excellent report writing and communication skills in English; Fluency in Amharic or other local languages is highly desirable; Experience working in Ethiopia or similar contexts is preferred; Knowledge of participatory monitoring and evaluation approaches.
