Provision of Consultancy Service to Review and Facilitate the Development of General Management Plans (GMPs), for Mnazi Bay–Ruvuma Estuary Marine Park

This consultancy aims to support the development of General Management Plans (GMPs) for the Mnazi Bay-Ruvuma Estuary Marine Park in Tanzania. The selected consultant or team will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive review of existing management frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and ecological assessments. Key deliverables include the development of updated GMPs that align with national and international conservation standards, ensuring sustainable management of marine resources. The consultant will work closely with IUCN and local stakeholders to ensure the plans are practical, inclusive, and effective. The role requires expertise in marine conservation, stakeholder facilitation, and policy development.

Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field; minimum 10 years of professional experience in marine conservation, fisheries management, or coastal zone management; demonstrated experience in developing management plans for marine protected areas; strong analytical and report-writing skills; proficiency in GIS and spatial analysis tools; experience working in East Africa or similar coastal ecosystems is highly desirable; familiarity with IUCN's conservation frameworks and global best practices in marine protected area management.
