Superintending Engineer

The Superintending Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all engineering projects within Makueni County. This includes planning, designing, and implementing civil engineering works such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and public infrastructure. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and supervising construction activities to meet project timelines and budgets. The Engineer will also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contractors, conduct site inspections, and prepare progress reports for the County Government. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with other departments to align engineering projects with broader county development goals.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB); Current valid practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya; Member with the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK); Attended a Project Development and Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks; Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the engineering field (Civil); Demonstrated experience in project management and supervision of civil engineering works; Strong leadership and communication skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
