Information Coordination Mentor
Job Description
The Information Coordination Mentor (ICM) is responsible for developing and maintaining information coordination functions for Boma National Park, Jonglei Project, and Bandigilo National Park in accordance with African Parks' SOPs. This role involves setting up, training, and mentoring two teams (investigators and analysts) in information collection and analysis techniques, including selecting and hiring personnel, assisting with basic training, and providing ongoing mentorship during daily operations. The ICM will develop and maintain each park’s information coordination functions, focusing on analytical work, reporting standards, and supervising collection efforts. Additionally, the role includes supervising day-to-day work of park-level teams, managing the Information Coordination database, ensuring secure storage of sensitive data, and developing relationships with key stakeholders and partner organizations. The ICM will also assess material and equipment needs and lead procurement efforts for identified requirements across all teams.
Requirements
Experienced working in information collection and/or information analysis required, preferably in a managerial role; experience with geographic information systems (GIS) and social network analysis (SNA) software; ability to self-manage and understand priorities in a fast-paced environment; fluency in spoken and written English with the ability to write detailed and accurate reports with clarity, brevity, and timeliness; good team player with a collaborative spirit; excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse cultures; experience living and working in austere environments.
