Chief Nutrition, P-5

This senior-level position requires extensive managerial leadership to oversee nutrition programs and initiatives within UNICEF. The Chief Nutrition Officer will be responsible for programme development and planning, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's global health and nutrition strategies. Key responsibilities include programme management, monitoring and quality control of results, providing advisory services and technical support to country offices, and leading advocacy, networking, and partnership-building efforts. The role also involves driving innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building across nutrition programs. The position requires a strong focus on achieving measurable outcomes in child health and nutrition, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts.

Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Nutrition, Public Health, Nutritional Epidemiology, Global/International Health and Nutrition, Health/Nutrition Research, Policy and/or Management, Health Sciences, or another health-related science field; At least 10 years of relevant work experience in Nutrition, Public Health, Nutrition Policy, Health Systems, Food Systems, or Humanitarian Nutrition; Proven experience in managerial leadership, advocacy, partnership building, and strategic thinking; Fluency in English is required; Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is desirable; Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is desirable; Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is desirable.
