Building and Civil Engineering Trainer - 2 Posts

The Building and Civil Engineering Trainer will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical education and training in building and civil engineering disciplines at Gichugu Technical and Vocational College. Primary duties include planning, preparing, and delivering lectures, practical sessions, and workshops to students pursuing building and civil engineering programs. The trainer will develop and update curriculum content in alignment with TVETA standards and industry requirements, assess student performance through exams, assignments, and practical assessments, and provide mentorship and career guidance to students. Additionally, the role involves maintaining workshop equipment and laboratories, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and collaborating with industry partners to enhance the relevance of training programs. The trainer will also be expected to participate in college activities, including examinations, departmental meetings, and community outreach programs.

Bachelor of Technology Education in Building and Civil Technology; OR Higher National Diploma in Building Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution; Must be licensed by TVETA (Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority) and any other necessary regulatory bodies; Must have a pedagogy qualification (teaching methodology certification); Demonstrated experience in teaching or training in building and civil engineering fields is preferred; Strong knowledge of current industry practices, standards, and technologies in construction and civil engineering; Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; Ability to develop and deliver engaging training sessions; Commitment to inclusive education and support for marginalized groups; Compliance with Chapter 6 of the Kenyan Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
