Medical Officer
Job Description
The Medical Officer at Central University Hospital of Kigali (CHUK) is responsible for initiating and assessing patients' medical, physical, and psychosocial status. This role involves developing comprehensive treatment plans, performing regular ward rounds, and recording detailed progress notes. The Medical Officer will order tests, examinations, medications, and therapies, ensuring patients receive all prescribed treatments. Responsibilities include writing medical prescriptions, admission notes, progress notes, and procedure notes, as well as providing patient education and counseling on health status. The position requires participation in the development and achievement of specific service objectives, ensuring quality care to in-patients, and following up on ordered investigations. Additional duties include managing ward beds, filling patient files, and performing other tasks within the scope of practice as assigned by the Head of Service.
Requirements
Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with internship completion. Registration with Rwanda Medical Council. Strong clinical skills and ability to work under pressure.
