National Field Analyst (x2)
Job Description
The National Field Analysts will support OCHA's operations in South Sudan by providing critical analytical and operational support to the field coordination team. Key responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and disseminating humanitarian data to inform decision-making; supporting the preparation of humanitarian reports and situation updates; liaising with local authorities, NGOs, and UN agencies to gather information on humanitarian needs and response efforts; and assisting in the coordination of humanitarian activities in the field. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data management tools, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments. Analysts will report directly to the Field Coordination Officer and work closely with the Humanitarian Country Team.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, or a related field; minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in humanitarian affairs, development, or a related field; strong analytical and writing skills; proficiency in English (French or Arabic is an asset); experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, or similar); familiarity with humanitarian principles and the cluster system; ability to work under pressure and in remote locations; willingness to travel within South Sudan as required.
