NCBA Group is hiring a Senior Underwriter – Broker Channel, Specialty & Multinational skilled in risk assessment, broker relationship management, and multinational corporate underwriting. - The role is responsible for providing senior technical underwriting support for Broker Channel, Specialty and Multinational business to ensure profitable growth, disciplined risk selection, strong broker service delivery and compliance with approved underwriting guidelines, delegated authorities and regulatory requirements. - The role evaluates complex and specialised risks, determines appropriate terms, pricing and coverage conditions, supports multinational programme servicing and local policy issuance, coordinates reinsurance referrals where required, and provides technical guidance to underwriting team members to improve turnaround time, portfolio quality and customer experience.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Professional certification such as ACII, CPCU, or equivalent is highly preferred; Minimum of 5 years of progressive underwriting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior underwriting role; Strong technical expertise in specialty and multinational insurance lines; Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; Strong understanding of insurance regulations and compliance frameworks; Experience in mentoring and developing underwriting talent; Fluency in English; Additional languages such as Swahili or French are advantageous.
