Branch Credit Officer

Meet with loan applicants to gather comprehensive information required for loan applications and address any questions they may have about the loan application process. Explain in detail the various types of loans and credit options available to customers, including the specific terms, conditions, interest rates, and repayment schedules associated with each option. Review and prepare detailed credit proposals, conduct thorough credit assessments, and evaluate the creditworthiness of clients by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation. Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants’ credit histories, financial statements, and other supporting documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of loan files. Work closely with underwriters and risk assessment teams to facilitate the approval process while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining clear communication with clients throughout the loan application and approval process, ensuring transparency and trust.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; 5-10 years of progressive experience in credit analysis, loan processing, or a related financial services role; Strong understanding of credit assessment methodologies, financial statement analysis, and risk evaluation; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and internal stakeholders; Proficiency in using financial software, credit scoring tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); Knowledge of Tanzanian banking regulations, lending policies, and compliance standards; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines; Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; Fluency in English and Swahili is highly preferred.
