Job Description
This role focuses on strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) programs in Kenya. Key responsibilities include mapping STI stakeholders at national and subnational levels, reviewing and identifying gaps in existing STI data collection and reporting tools, and spearheading the development of new M&E frameworks. The advisor will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Health and relevant stakeholders to co-design and institutionalize a robust national STI M&E framework, including indicators and data visualization dashboards. The position requires strong technical expertise in health system strengthening, particularly in HIV and STI care and prevention interventions, as well as familiarity with electronic health information systems such as DHIS2, Taifa Care (Tiberbu HMIS and KenyaEMR), KHIS, and data visualization tools like Power BI and Tableau.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Health Informatics, Public Health, or a related field; A clinical background is an added advantage; Demonstrated experience supporting or working with Kenya’s national HIV and STI programs and Ministry of Health structures; Strong understanding of health system strengthening for HIV and STI care and prevention interventions; Experience with DHIS2, Taifa care (Tiberbu HMIS and KenyaEMR), KHIS, other electronic health information systems, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau); Prior work experience with government under donor-funded programs will be an advantage.
