Job Description
GoldCavern Associates is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Country Manager to lead its business operations and drive market expansion in Uganda. The successful candidate will initially oversee OTC (Over-The-Counter) trading operations while establishing the company's presence in the market. This role will later transition into leading the company as it becomes a fully licensed Payment Service Provider. Key responsibilities include developing and executing the country's growth strategy, leading OTC trading, treasury, liquidity, and payment operations, and building and managing relationships with banks, regulators, merchants, fintech partners, and key stakeholders. The Country Manager will drive business development, merchant acquisition, and strategic partnerships, ensuring compliance with AML/CFT (Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing), KYC (Know Your Customer), and local regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role involves overseeing financial performance, budgeting, profitability, and operational efficiency, delivering exceptional customer and merchant experiences, leading and developing a high-performing local team, and supporting the rollout and growth of innovative digital payment products and services.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial services, fintech, banking, or a related industry; Proven track record in business development, merchant acquisition, and strategic partnerships; Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in building and leading high-performing teams; In-depth knowledge of AML/CFT, KYC, and regulatory compliance frameworks; Experience in OTC trading, treasury, liquidity, and payment operations; Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; Ability to develop and execute growth strategies; Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and profitability management; Familiarity with digital payment products and services is a plus.
