Senior Finance and Administration Officer

This role is responsible for the finance and administration management in the Transform Trade Africa region, based in Dar es Salaam with travel to regional project areas. The Senior Finance and Administration Officer will oversee regional financial management tasks, including preparation and processing of accounting transactions, financial statement preparation, monthly cashbook and bank reconciliation, payroll processing, and ensuring positive cash flow. They will also manage regional budget compilation, monitoring, and tracking, ensure compliance with organizational policies, government statutory requirements, and donor requirements, and support the Regional Director in risk management. Additional responsibilities include overseeing statutory and project financial audits, implementing audit findings, managing and supervising finance staff, coaching field staff and partners on financial management and safeguarding policies, and ensuring the regional office is well-managed and organized. The role also involves providing backstopping support to the Head of Finance & Administration as part of the global finance & operations team.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or other relevant area; Professional Accounting qualification registered with the National Board of Accountancy and Auditors (NBAA) or its equivalent; At least five years of working experience preparing organizational financial statements and donor reports; Experience in managing the finances of development organizations, especially those receiving funds from different donors internationally; Strong bookkeeping and financial management experience; Experience using different accounting systems; Expertise in SAGE 200 is preferable; Experience in managing finance staff; Experience in managing and building relationships with partners and associates; Familiarity with taxation and compliance rules of the Tanzanian and Kenyan Government; Honesty and integrity.
