International English Content Writer and Editor
Job Description
UNICEF Indonesia’s Communication and Advocacy Section is seeking an International English Content Writer and Editor to deliver high-quality writing, editing, and quality assurance services over a 12-month period. The consultant will produce written, edited, and quality-assured communication materials, including web articles, press releases, human interest stories, social media content, and other formats as requested by the communication team. Responsibilities include collaborating closely with UNICEF Indonesia’s communication, programmes, and fundraising teams to ensure content aligns with UNICEF’s writing standards, brand guidance, and audience-focused strategies. The role requires independent work with regular coordination during Jakarta working hours to incorporate feedback and inputs from UNICEF staff. The consultant will also conduct research, translate technical language into accessible content, and develop content strategies tailored to diverse target audiences. Experience in strategic communication, advocacy, and content creation for development or international relations sectors is essential.
Requirements
Master’s university degree in journalism, communications, international relations, human rights, political science, international development, or a related technical field; At least 3 years of working experience in communications and public relations in the development sector or international relations field; Fluency in English is required; Experience in producing compelling communication materials; Flawless copywriting and outstanding writing skills; Experience in strategic communication and advocacy; Experience in developing various content formats (web articles, press releases, human interest stories, social media content); Experience in audience mapping/analysis and content strategy development; Ability to perform multiple tasks without compromising quality; Excellent people skills and flexibility to work with diverse stakeholders; Experience in conducting research and translating technical language into audience-focused content; Written samples must be submitted with the CV; Desirable: Experience in simple graphic design and video editing; Experience with UNICEF or other UN agencies is an asset.
