School Counselor

The School Counselor provides academic, career, social, and emotional guidance to students while promoting student wellbeing and supporting a positive school climate. Key responsibilities include providing individual and group counseling to address students' emotional and social needs, delivering structured guidance programmes to support academic and career development, collaborating with teachers and parents to foster a supportive learning environment, responding to safeguarding concerns in accordance with school policies, and maintaining confidential student records. The role requires active engagement with students, parents, and staff to ensure a holistic approach to student development. The counselor works within the Student Support Services department and plays a critical role in creating a safe and inclusive school environment.

Bachelor's Degree in Counseling Psychology, Psychology, or a related field; Professional counseling certification is preferred; Relevant school counseling experience; Active listening skills; Crisis intervention capabilities; Strong confidentiality practices; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with students, parents, teachers, and support staff; Organized, energetic, and self-directed approach; Ability to interact effectively at all levels within the school community; Commitment to optimizing diversity and inclusion.
