Electromechanical Engineer

This role is within the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB). The Electromechanical Engineer will supervise and validate the installation of electromechanical systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The position requires ensuring that MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems meet regulatory standards, project specifications, and safety protocols. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot system inefficiencies, conduct inspections, and provide technical guidance to contractors and field teams. Additionally, the role involves maintaining detailed documentation of system installations, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with national and international engineering standards. The work environment includes field sites, construction sites, and office-based project coordination, with a focus on sustainable agricultural and animal resource development infrastructure.

Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Professional certification in engineering (e.g., PE, CEng) is an advantage; Minimum of 3 years of experience in electromechanical system design, installation, and maintenance; Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems is required; Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and MEP design tools; Strong knowledge of Rwanda’s building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards; Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications; Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail; Strong communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda; Willingness to work in field conditions and travel within Rwanda as needed.
