Science Officer — IT (Systems Developer)

The Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) is seeking a skilled Science Officer specializing in IT (Systems Developer) to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of its information systems. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in systems development; Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++; Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL); Strong understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum); Knowledge of web development frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, React); Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is an advantage; Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; Strong communication and teamwork abilities; Ability to work under minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
