Laboratory Technician (Medical Services) Grade 5

The Laboratory Technologist I will be responsible for conducting routine and specialized laboratory tests on water and wastewater samples to ensure compliance with national and international quality standards. This role involves performing chemical, biological, and physical analyses, maintaining laboratory equipment, recording and interpreting test results, and preparing detailed reports for regulatory bodies and management. The technologist will also assist in method development and validation, participate in quality control programs, and ensure adherence to safety protocols in the laboratory environment. Collaboration with environmental engineers and public health officials is essential to support water quality monitoring and treatment processes.

Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field; registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB); minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience; proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment operation; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team; knowledge of water quality standards and regulatory requirements.
