Programme Manager in Makamba, Burundi

As Programme Manager (PGM) for ZOA in Makamba, Burundi, you will lead the ZOA team in the programme country and provide programmatic direction. You will have integral management responsibility for the realization of the projects in Makamba, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. This role involves initiating and maintaining effective working relations with relevant stakeholders, participating in the Country Management Team for broader country performance discussions, and being accountable to the Country Director of ZOA Burundi. The position requires a strategic vision for the programme area, including context analysis, annual planning, and monitoring of project activities to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets. Responsibilities also include Project Cycle Management, such as needs assessments, concept note formulation, proposal development, and budgeting for donors. Additionally, you will oversee HR, admin, and finance tasks, including staff supervision, performance evaluation, budget authorization, and compliance with financial, personnel, and security policies. The role also involves ensuring a gender and conflict-sensitive approach in project implementation and team management, as well as designing and maintaining an effective security management system in the programme area.
