Tanzania Tree Implementation and Audit Intern
Job Description
Seeking Tree Audit Interns to support tree implementation, conduct field audits, verify program data, and strengthen accountability across field operations. Responsibilities include nursery and seedling audits to verify production numbers and seedling quality, farmer enrolment and payment verification through phone calls and field visits, distribution and reconciliation audits to cross-check seedling distribution records, and carbon credit and beneficiary audits to ensure 100% accurate reporting for international Carbon Credit certification. Additionally, the role involves managing data and distribution logistics, tracking Transportation Management System (TMS) forms, and drafting clear audit reports with actionable recommendations for management. Interns will participate in an onboarding program, receive training on project design and execution, and work on high-impact projects supporting One Acre Fund's operations. Weekly check-ins with managers, mentorship, training, and regular performance feedback are provided, along with career reviews every one to three months to discuss aspirations and goals.
Requirements
A minimum of a Certificate level qualification (in any field, though agriculture, forestry, or environmental studies is a plus); comfortable using computers, sending professional emails, and using tablets for mobile data collection; detail-oriented with a sharp eye for inconsistencies in paperwork, logistics records, and data entries; active and mobile with excitement for spending time in the field, visiting tree nurseries, and meeting farmers; eligible only to citizens or permanent residents of Tanzania.
