Job Description
The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) is seeking a motivated and qualified Coffee Quality Assurance and Regulation Specialist to join their team in Kigali, Rwanda. This role involves ensuring compliance with national and international coffee quality standards, conducting inspections, and maintaining regulatory oversight for coffee exports. The specialist will be responsible for assessing coffee quality through sensory evaluation, laboratory testing, and documentation of findings. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing quality control protocols, collaborating with stakeholders to improve coffee processing standards, and providing technical guidance to coffee producers and exporters. The position requires a strong background in food science, chemistry, or microbiology, with a focus on quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The role operates within a dynamic environment where adherence to professional standards and effective communication with internal and external partners is essential.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field; minimum of five (5) years of working experience in the food industry, food regulation sector, or food quality control sector; OR MSc in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field with minimum of three (3) years of working experience in the food industry, food regulation sector, or food quality control sector; demonstrated knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance standards; strong analytical and data analysis skills; excellent communication and training abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management tools.
