Project Procurement Officer

Supporting the project procurement process under the guidance of the Centre Procurement Officer. Contributing to ensuring efficiency in the procurement process at the Centre by adhering to national and institutional regulations. The role involves procuring goods and supplies, including lab equipment and consumables, using the National e-procurement system of Tanzania (NeST). The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively with investigators and stakeholders, and a commitment to excellence, work efficiency, innovativeness, and teamwork. The role is part of the PHOTON Trial, a cluster-randomised trial testing a novel nutritional intervention to prevent tuberculosis among household contacts in Tanzania.

Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Logistics Management, Business Management (Procurement and Supply) or related field from a recognised university; Working experience in projects in a procurement position for at least two years in a public research/academic health institution; Demonstrated experience in efficiently procuring goods and supplies including lab equipment and consumables using the National e-procurement system of Tanzania (NeST); Must be registered with PSPTB; Passionate and highly motivated with the ability to meet tight deadlines; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently and collaboratively with investigators and stakeholders.
