Senior Accountant

This role is crucial for the effective and efficient operation of the Biharamulo Mine, a subsidiary of the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO). The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing financial reporting for the mine located in the Biharamulo Forest Reserve, South West of Mwanza in Kagera Region. The position involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing budgets, and providing strategic financial advice to senior management. The role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail due to the critical nature of the mine's operations. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial processes and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Qualified Tanzanian with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is highly desirable; Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the mining or extractive industries; Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar); Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills; Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; Fluency in English and Swahili is required.
