Senior Project Manager NGO Job
Job Description
You will serve as the central coordinator for a portfolio of investment-stage projects and grantee support initiatives at Code for Africa (CfA). In this role, you will provide end-to-end project management coordination and support, ensuring harmonization of development timelines, overseeing tracking mechanisms, and leading the management of workplans to guarantee all activities, tasks, and deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and to required quality standards. Your responsibilities will span project oversight, including developing and managing workplans, coordinating cross-team delivery, and flagging conflicts and risks. You will also engage with stakeholders as the primary point of contact for partners and internal teams, producing programmatic reports that meet donor and internal governance requirements. This position requires proactive problem-solving, sequencing work, directing traffic between teams, and acting as the central nervous system of the program to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Development Studies, Business Administration); minimum of 5 years of progressive project management experience, preferably in an NGO or development sector; strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall); experience in coordinating cross-functional teams; excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, MS Project); ability to develop and track workplans; experience in budget management and financial reporting; familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
