Site Engineer

Job Description

The Wash Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure projects in rural and urban communities. Key responsibilities include assessing community needs, planning and overseeing the construction of water supply systems, latrines, and hygiene promotion activities. The role involves collaborating with local authorities, community leaders, and technical teams to ensure project sustainability and alignment with national WASH standards. Additionally, the Wash Engineer will conduct training sessions for community members on proper water use, sanitation practices, and maintenance of infrastructure. Regular reporting on project progress, challenges, and outcomes to donors and stakeholders is also required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related field; minimum of 3 years of experience in WASH project implementation; strong technical skills in water supply systems, sanitation infrastructure, and hygiene promotion; experience with community engagement and participatory approaches; proficiency in project management tools and software; ability to work in challenging environments; fluency in English and Kinyarwanda; valid driver’s license.
