Learning and Adaptive Management Consultancy for AARAN Project
Job Description
The consultant will provide learning and adaptive management services to support the AARAN project, focusing on advancing adaptation through resilient mobility and natural capital. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing learning exercises, conducting thematic learning assignments, and supporting the development of adaptive management strategies. The consultant will work closely with the BRCiS Consortium (with NRC as the lead agency) to ensure alignment with project objectives and annual implementation plans. Responsibilities also include submitting itemized budgets aligned with deliverables, maintaining flexible resource planning for intermittent engagement, and ensuring secure data storage and compliance with data protection protocols. The consultant must demonstrate expertise in climate adaptation, resilience building, and natural capital management, with a strong focus on Somalia's context.
Requirements
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Environmental Science, Climate Change Adaptation, Natural Resource Management, or a related field; minimum 7 years of professional experience in climate adaptation, resilience, and natural capital management; proven experience in designing and implementing learning exercises and adaptive management strategies; strong analytical and research skills; experience working in fragile and conflict-affected contexts, particularly in Somalia; familiarity with FCDO Fiscal Year budgeting and reporting; documented security and risk management plan; comprehensive insurance coverage for all personnel; ability to work flexibly and respond to varying levels of effort throughout the contract period.
