WASH Officer

The WASH Officer (P2) will be responsible for supporting the implementation of UNICEF's Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programmes in Port Sudan, Sudan. Key responsibilities include donor reporting and documentation, knowledge management and communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement, dissemination of new knowledge into country programmes (including innovation and capacity building), and programme monitoring and data management. The role involves ensuring that WASH interventions contribute to child survival, development, protection, and resilience in Sudan's complex humanitarian and development environment. The officer will work closely with development and humanitarian partners to manage donor-funded WASH interventions.

A bachelor’s degree in public health, International Development, WASH, Social Sciences, Communications, Engineering, or another field relevant to WASH programme management is required; At least 2 years of relevant work experience in WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), WASH programme management, WASH project proposal development, and WASH project reporting; Required skills include report writing, technical document development, partnership document development, and knowledge document development; Fluency in English is required; Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset; Experience in donor reporting, proposal development, grant management, WASH communication, and WASH knowledge management is an asset; Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is preferred.
