Senior Data Associate - Cybersecurity

This role focuses on enhancing data security frameworks, implementing cybersecurity measures, and ensuring compliance with international data protection standards. The Senior Data Associate will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities in data systems, developing and enforcing security protocols, and conducting regular audits to mitigate risks. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cybersecurity best practices into data management processes and provide training to staff on security awareness. The position requires a proactive approach to staying updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, as well as the ability to communicate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders. Key deliverables include the development of security policies, incident response plans, and continuous monitoring of data infrastructure to prevent breaches.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field; Minimum of 5 years of experience in data security, cybersecurity, or a closely related role; Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable; Proficiency in security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls; Experience with SIEM tools, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability assessment tools; Strong understanding of data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and compliance requirements; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to work independently and in a team environment; Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
