Operations Manager
Job Description
The Operations Manager will lead and strengthen operational activities across retail shops, warehouse operations, logistics, and distribution networks for Tiyn Trading Company. Primary responsibilities include managing daily operations across retail shops and distribution channels, ensuring availability and timely distribution of Safaricom products (SIM cards, airtime, devices, and related materials), and overseeing warehouse operations, stock control, inventory reconciliation, and product movement. The role requires ensuring branches comply with company procedures and Safaricom operational standards, monitoring shop performance, customer service quality, and operational efficiency. Additionally, the Operations Manager will coordinate logistics and product replenishment activities, support M-PESA operations and compliance requirements, prepare operational reports and performance updates, and lead and develop operations teams. The position involves working closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and requires strong operational planning, execution, and leadership skills in a fast-paced retail and telecom distribution environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Management, or related field; Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in operations, distribution, telecommunications, FMCG, banking, or retail industries; Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management position; Experience managing multi-branch operations or distribution networks is highly desirable; Experience in telecom distribution or mobile money operations is an advantage; Strong operational planning and execution skills; Inventory, warehouse, and logistics management experience; Strong leadership and team management skills; Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability; Good communication and stakeholder management skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; Skills (mandatory): Oral and written communication, Attention to detail, Team work, accuracy; Work experience: 5-8 years
