WASH Technical Officer

The WASH Technical Officer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) programs in target communities. Primary duties include conducting needs assessments, developing WASH strategies, training community members and local partners, and ensuring compliance with international WASH standards. The role involves coordinating with local authorities, NGOs, and government agencies to facilitate program delivery and sustainability. Key deliverables include the implementation of WASH infrastructure projects, community engagement initiatives, and reporting on program impact. The position requires a strong understanding of WASH principles, project management skills, and the ability to work in challenging environments. The officer will report to the WASH Program Manager and collaborate closely with other technical teams within ILF.

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or a related field; minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in WASH programs; experience in community-based WASH interventions; strong project management and coordination skills; proficiency in English (additional local languages are an asset); ability to work under pressure and in remote locations; familiarity with WASH standards and guidelines (e.g., Sphere Standards, UNHCR WASH Manual); experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
