Tax Accountant

The Tax Accountant is responsible for managing the company's tax compliance, reporting, and planning. This role ensures timely and accurate filing of tax returns, provides strategic tax advice, and keeps the organization up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Tax Compliance & Filing Tax Reporting & Analysis Systems & Documentation The Tax Accountant is responsible for managing the company's tax compliance, reporting, and planning. This role ensures timely and accurate filing of tax returns, provides strategic tax advice, and keeps the organization up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Tax Compliance & Filing - Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns (VAT, PAYE, income tax, corporate tax, withholding tax, etc.). - Ensure compliance with local and regional tax regulations. - Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities. Tax Reporting & Analysis - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports. - Maintain up-to-date records of tax payments and tax liabilities. - Analyze financial information to identify tax-saving opportunities and risks. - Advise management on the impact of tax legislation changes. - Collaborate with external auditors and tax consultants where needed. Systems & Documentation - Ensure proper documentation of all tax-related transactions and communications. - Maintain strong internal controls over tax processes. - Use accounting software to support tax reporting and compliance.

2-3 years of accounting experience, financial accounting in manufacturing preferred Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proficient in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally or ERP system Proficient in accounting and Tanzanian tax filing process and system CPA, tax law or related qualification are preferred
