Assistant Lecturer: Engineering
Job Description
The Assistant Lecturer in Engineering will be responsible for teaching, evaluating, and mentoring undergraduate students in engineering disciplines. This includes setting, administering, and marking examinations, as well as developing comprehensive teaching and learning materials tailored to undergraduate curricula. The role involves participating in the preparation of Department and Faculty development plans, organizing and supervising educational activities for undergraduate students, and attending seminars, workshops, and conferences in relevant engineering fields. Additionally, the Assistant Lecturer will engage in administrative, academic, and consultancy activities within the Department and collaborate with other organizations. Participation in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curricula is also expected, along with attending Departmental meetings to ensure effective and efficient management of academic programs.
Requirements
Have a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree qualification from an accredited and recognized university in the relevant engineering field; be registered or registerable with the relevant professional body (where applicable); be registerable for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral Degree qualification.
