Consultancy on Listening to Displacement-Affected Communities on their Inclusion and Meaningful Participation in Durable Solutions Governance
Job Description
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a consultant to conduct a consultancy assignment focused on listening to displacement-affected communities to assess their inclusion and meaningful participation in durable solutions governance. The consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing participatory methodologies to gather insights from affected communities, analyzing findings, and producing a comprehensive report with actionable recommendations. The role involves close collaboration with DRC teams and partners to ensure that community voices are central to durable solutions programming. The consultant will also support the translation of research findings into policy and programmatic guidance for DRC and its partners in the Horn of Africa region.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Forced Migration Studies, or a related field; minimum 5 years of professional experience in forced displacement, humanitarian action, or community engagement; proven experience in participatory research methodologies and qualitative data collection; strong analytical and report-writing skills; familiarity with durable solutions frameworks and governance issues in displacement contexts; experience working in the Horn of Africa is highly desirable; proficiency in English (additional languages such as Somali, Amharic, or Arabic are a strong asset); ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
