Accounts Assistant Job
Job Description
The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for preparing payment vouchers and monitoring payments to creditors, ensuring timely disbursement of funds. The role involves entering financial data into accounting systems and maintaining accurate accounting records, including imprest, journal vouchers, and petty cash management. The incumbent will capture institution income and expenses accurately, prepare and issue invoices or fee statements for tuition, accommodation, and other charges, and track unpaid student fees while following up on overdue payments. Additionally, the Accounts Assistant will reconcile student accounts and receivable balances with the general ledger, and prepare reports on outstanding receivables, collections, and bad debts to support financial decision-making.
Requirements
Diploma in Accounting or its equivalent from a recognized institution; CPA Part I or in progress; minimum 2 years of relevant experience; computer literate; meet Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya requirements.
