Job Description

The Business Development Director will be responsible for seeking new markets and business opportunities, with a strong focus on large-scale projects involving government entities, including Public Private Partnerships (PPPs). The role involves identifying and securing significant government contracts, particularly those valued over $5 million USD annually, within the last three years. Key responsibilities include proposal and tender management, where the incumbent prepares and coordinates responses to tenders and bids, and follows up on discussions to sign new contracts. The position also requires leading negotiations with potential clients to secure contracts, managing the contract signing process, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed. Additionally, the role involves drawing up legal documents such as contracts and teaming agreements, and leveraging these government contracts and partnerships to drive the company's growth and expansion into new markets. The Director will represent the company in high-level discussions with government authorities, build a network of industry contacts, and participate in events to promote the company's brand and products. The role also includes setting up and coordinating a team of national and regional consultants who liaise with key in-country stakeholders and decision-makers, providing regular guidance to business partners in accordance with formulated strategies.

Requirements

Proven experience in selling large-scale projects to government entities, including Public Private Partnerships, with a value greater than 5 million USD per year, within the last three years; Extensive knowledge of the region and its business environment; Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; Ability to travel extensively within the designated region and internationally; Strategic thinking and market analysis; Strong networking and relationship-building skills; Ability to manage complex sales cycles and close deals; Proficiency in financial analysis and business case development; Experience in dealing and negotiating with government authorities; Proficiency in drawing legal documents: contracts, teaming agreements, etc.
