Job Description
The Venn Officer - Data Quality Assurance (DQA) will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of data collected and used by Raising The Village. This position involves designing and implementing data quality frameworks, conducting regular audits, and identifying discrepancies or errors in datasets. The officer will collaborate closely with field teams, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) specialists, and program managers to standardize data collection processes and improve data governance. Key responsibilities include developing and enforcing data quality standards, training staff on best practices, and generating reports to highlight data quality issues and trends. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights for program improvement. The work environment is dynamic, often involving field visits to support data collection teams and ensure adherence to protocols.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Minimum of 3 years of experience in data quality assurance, data analysis, or a closely related role; Proficiency in data management tools such as Excel, SQL, and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, or SPSS); Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an added advantage; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail; Excellent communication skills to train and mentor teams on data quality standards; Experience working in international development, non-profit, or social impact sectors is highly desirable; Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards is a plus.
