Clinical Psychologist

The University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) seeks a highly qualified and motivated psychiatrist to join its faculty in the Department of Psychiatry. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality psychiatric care, teaching medical students and residents, and contributing to curriculum development in mental health. This role involves clinical service provision at the Butaro District Hospital, which is part of the UGHE teaching hospital network, as well as engaging in research activities focused on mental health in resource-limited settings. The position requires a strong commitment to equity in healthcare and a passion for global health education. The faculty member will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate mental health services into primary care and strengthen health systems in Rwanda and beyond.

MD or equivalent degree in Psychiatry; Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry; Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in Psychiatry; Experience in medical education or teaching in a clinical setting; Strong research background with publications preferred; Proficiency in English and French (Kinyarwanda is a plus); Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Commitment to global health equity and community-oriented practice.
